In the uncharted wild west of our solar system, two young astronauts embark on a mission to claim a newly discovered asteroid for their home country. But the journey holds unexpected surprises, as chaos and comedy ensue in this wild exploration of space mining and environmentalism.

This film is a fictional story set on an asteroid, yet it is grounded in scientific facts and current legislative developments. Blending surreal comedy with elements of sci-fi, it playfully adopts the genre’s aesthetics while addressing questions of ownership in space. It focuses specifically on Luxembourg’s ambitions to become the European leader in space mining.

In 2017, Luxembourg became the second country in the world to create laws for the extraction of resources in space. Since then, over 50 space mining start-ups have settled in the small country. Specialists in space law and space sustainability, who contributed to the film, anticipate that space resources will play an omnipresent role in the global economy in 40 to 50 years. Yet, the UN is completely unprepared for such a scenario.
